Lost 20 lbs and running a half marathon
Hi Amie, I’ve been meaning to send you an email to update you on my progress. And now my friend, Annie, is asking me for your information so that she can schedule an appt with you.
Anyway, since the “contest” ended, I have lost ANOTHER 20 pounds! In addition to the 19 I already lost, I have dropped 2 sizes. I even fit in my bikini! (Maybe ill actually wear it to the beach you never know) I am back to running. Something I thought I would never be able to do again because of the chronic fatique. I am going to do the Pgh half marathon in 4 months.I tell people about you all the time because I am so grateful to you for what you have helped me do. -Barb H.
Weight loss and balanced eating at last!
Because of Amie and her nutritional guidance, I lost the last 10 pounds that I had been trying to lose for more than a year. After the first week or two, the eating plan became routine and the weight practically melted away.
I used to think I was an emotional eater, but once I began eating the correct amount of protein and reduced my carbohydrates, I did not feel an overwhelming need to consume food like I had in the past. Before Amie the toughest times of the day for me were after work and in the evening. With a balanced diet and well-timed snacks, I did not feel overly hungry.

Amie Hornaman is a nutritionist, trainer, guide, and counselor combined. Amie is so motivating, caring, and committed to her clients, that I always joke that she needs to be a trainer on “The Biggest Loser”!
I have struggled with my eating behaviors since I was a child, and I have been on numerous diets and fitness regimens. I decided that after several decades of looking for the magic cure, I was going to address the pain in this area of my life once and for all — I did not want to live the rest of my life like this. The difference with Amie is the level of personalization and depth. Instead of giving me a “food pyramid” food plan, or something Xeroxed out of a magazine, she spent a lot of time looking at EXACTLY what I was eating, and when. Then she asked about my eating behaviors, before writing up a food plan tailored to my personality. In addition, she encouraged me to contact her via text, phone, or email when I was struggling, and to be honest about it. That has made all of the difference in changing my body as well as my mind.
Amie knows more about nutrition and metabolism than anyone I’ve seen, and is a person who really “walks the walk” — she cares deeply about her clients’ well-being, and takes care of herself physically and mentally. Her intelligence, sensitivity, and caring make it a safe place to be honest about one’s eating — and, let’s face it, it’s the “cheating” where so many of us go wrong. We “cheat” and then fall off the plan full-force. With Amie, she offers ongoing support. Depending on your goals, it can be anywhere from one month to three to an ongoing relationship, which is what I have chosen because my progress has been so positive. I have dropped weight and feel better about how I eat than ever — and I am “allowed” to eat any food, as long as it is part of the plan. There is no starving, no craziness — she keeps it real.
