Still Killing Yourself Slowly with BPA Free?

You just ordered a new BPA free water bottle from Amazon and you’re so excited because you’re taking a step in the right direction with your health. Maybe you have eliminated plastics out of your life because of the known health consequences linked to bisphenol-A (BPA), an estrogen-mimicking compound used in plastic production that has been linked to breast cancer, early puberty, infertility, and other diseases. (If you haven’t then you need to google BPA and your health and start there.)
Unfortunately, you may need to send that pretty new water bottle back or throw it out. Eliminating BPA, as we are now learning, doesn’t quite cut it when trying to avoid chemicals that can mimic estrogen and cause cancer. Companies are using BPS (bisphenol-S) in place of BPA along with other plastic-like chemicals that still contain endocrine disrupting properties and excitotoxins linked to cancer and other diseases.
If you have been struggling with your weight, your thyroid or hormones, autoimmune disease, cancer, diabetes, asthma, dementia, Alzheimer’s or reproductive issues switching to BPA-free doesn’t quite cut it. Switch to glass containers for food, aluminum water bottles, stainless steel and ceramic containers. The small investment is worth it. Amazon has all you need or go to stores like Marshalls or Home Goods. Throw out your BPA free containers so you’re not tempted to use them “just this one time”. And remember this, as I tell my nutrition clients with their daily eating, small changes in behavior can make big differences in your health and your body.
